Kolouchè Biao speaks 9 languages: French, English, German, Yoruba, Nagot, Fon, Mina, Ashanti (Twi) and Dendi. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Translation French-English-German awarded by the University of Legon, Accra and Proficiency Certificates in English and in German from the Ghana Institutes of languages, Certificates from the Goethe Institute. In 2008, she won a scholarship for a summer course in German language at the University of Erfurt in Germany. She won an Award organised by the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), under the category of the Most Outstanding Female International Student 2009. This award qualified her for the Award of ALI (Africa Leadership Initiative) Scholar under the ALIncubatorTM Project whose motto is “Today’s effectual and enlightened leaders breeding tomorrow’s”.
She is the National President of the YWCA (Young Women’s Christian Association) of BENIN since 2008. She was the treasurer of the Lectors group in her church in Bénin for several years; she also held the position of Public Relations Officer in the Interim Management Committee of the Students’ Representative Council of GIL from April to June 2008, the chairperson of the German club in GIL in 2009. She attained several YWCA workshops and seminars in Bénin, Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Switzerland, Ethiopia and international conferences on Women and sexuality issues and participated in other diverse YWCA programmes. She is also coordinating the participation of African Francophones in the African Youth and Governance Conference that is held every year from the 10th to 12th August : www.aygconference.org
Kolouchè loves travelling, making and meeting new friends, meeting new positively influential people, taking photographs, writing, playing cards, scrabble, reading, listening to music, cooking and discovering.
