As part of their work, they are helping to advance sustainability & environmental awareness through youth-led action.
IDEAS and YCR will work together as follows: writing of articles and blogs about their local climate impacts and what their chapters are doing to educate, engage and empower their community to solve these issues; interviewing scientists and researchers on what they have discovered on climate change and its impacts; and facilitating climate change workshops and conferences.
The IDEAS team will take part in the YCR training program to help them report effectively. I must add that, the partnership will further support the YCR team’s ongoing efforts to produce films that will be presented at United Nations Framwork Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conferences in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
I am glad to share that this partnership was arranged when the YCR and IDEAS team met at UNEP’s “TUNZAfrka” Conference at Lome, Togo.
During the conference, the YCR project was selected among the finalists of the 25 innovative projects in Africa.
The office in Ghana that serves as the YCR office in Africa will be used to serve the work of the IDEAS and YCR partnership.
